More in depth instructions and photos of the eye makeup and lip color are under the cut!
- The first step to any makeup look is to moisturize your face. Then, wait ten to fifteen minutes to actually start up!
- Next, prime your face. I skipped this step, because I'm not a huge fan of primer and I didn't want to waste the little that I do have on makeup that I wasn't planning on keeping on all day.
- Take any concealer that you have (from a jar or a pan, other concealers are meant to be applied after you've already put on your foundation) and apply it to any blemishes or redness that you'd like to cover up.
- Put on your foundation! Whichever shade and finish fits you best! Lydia's skin is very matte, but if that doesn't suit you, your skin doesn't need to match hers exactly.
- If your foundation isn't a matte finish and you'd like to have matte skin, sweep a powder across your face. I used Benefit's Hello Flawless, but any drugstore powder that you have will work just as well.
- Lydia doesn't seem to wear any kind of bronzer in the stills that I've collected, but if you're a bronzer fan, go ahead and apply that now.
- For blush, Lydia wears pinky-orange shades, so if you have a nice coral, now's the time to pull that out!
- Next, I took a warm brown and swept that all over my lid, moving the color higher up towards the outer corner of my eye with a domed brush.
- For eyeliner, I used a pencil, dragging it across my entire lid. Obviously, this can be substituted for liquid or gel! Whichever you prefer!
- I took my Dream Lumi liquid concealer next and covered up my under eye circles.
- After that, I used a white eyeliner pencil to color in my waterline. Using white eyeliner there gives your eyes a wider, more open look. Something that I definitely associate with Lydia!
- Back to the same black eyeliner pencil as before! But, this time, I took that color onto a liner brush, for a more precise application.
- Mascara is a huge part of Lydia's look. Her lashes are long and very well defined. I used Too Faced's LashGASM, but Maybelline's One by One mascara has the same effect!
- Probably the most important step to this whole tutorial, the lipstick. The Teen Wolf makeup artists combine different shades (orange and pink) to create the lip color that Lydia has been wearing for all of season 3. Being that I'm not privy to which exact colors they used, I decided to improvise. I used an orange Revlon lipstain, a sheer reddish pink lip balm from Covergirl, and a matte, rosy pink lipstick from MAC.
- I put the orange on first, because when I see pictures of Lydia's lip color, the first thing that I notice is the pink, not the orange, which leads me to believe that that's more of a base than the other two shades.
- Then, I apply the sheer Covergirl shade. Due to the consistency of that one, the orange and the pink start to blend together. I think that for this look, a lip brush is kind of necessary. If you apply the lip colors without one, they don't blend as well.
- Finally, I use my matte rosy pink on top, blending it with the same lip brush.
- Add whichever color you think that you need more of to create Lydia's signature lip color!
